See the performance of the Wilson Word Wrappers at the Illinois Destination ImagiNation Affiliate Tournament where they put the rules of the Wilson Language Method to music and dance moves.  This group of students has developed a way for them to remember the rules and enhance their reading ability over a few months.  They then started teaching younger students to read at a local youth center.  We are VERY proud of the group of students and their transformation from their Project Outreach experience.

Join Dr. Wadell Brooks Sr. in his radio interview for Lake County Illinois Community segment on WKRS as he gets inspired by the story of the Neal Math and Science Academy students on their Destination ImagiNation Project Outreach team.  These 7th grade students have designed and implemented a service learning project that teaches younger students to read.  That is, after they learned to read themselves using the Wilson Method.  Their teacher, Ms. Evelyn Cole shares the story of how the students started the project and overcame obstacles along the way.  Diana Baldi, Regional Director for Far North Illinois, shares background about the Destination ImagiNation program and first meeting the students December 2009.  Being open to possibility, even at an odd place and time like the Chicago Toy and Game Fair, brought Evelyn and Diana together to support creating a Project Outreach team.  Now they are on their way to the state-wide competition April 10th and Global Finals in Knoxville TN May 26th to 29th.

If you are inspired and want to support their journey of a lifetime, donations are welcome.  We do not want fundraising to be the obstacle that keeps them away from the Global Finals tournament.

Send donations to Neal Math and Science Academy and add note for DI Project Outreach team.
